25 Minute Interpretive Centre Tour -35 Minute Movie “Survivor of the Red Brick School” -1 Hour Tour of the Residential School with and Elder/Knowledge Keeper
Guided Interpretive Centre Tour
With a Employee who will tell a shortened version of the Ktunaxa Creation Story, discuss the Artifacts and The residential School Timeline and Sixties Scoop.
Self-Guided Interpretive Centre Tour
You are free to walk around at own pace and look around the Interpretive Centre on your own. With staff available to ask questions if requested.
Survivor of the Red Brick School Movie
You will have a private viewing of the movie without the debriefing and question and answer period from Staff.
Available Excercises and Activities
Guided Plant Walk
You will be taken on a walk around the area surrounding the mission with a knowledge holder who will talk about each of the plants and the traditional uses of each.
Miniature Moccasin Making Workshop
A facilitator will come teach you and your group how to make a set of miniature ornamental moccasins.
Beading
A Facilitator will come in and teach your group how to bead a keepsake that you can bring home.
Legend/Story Telling
A Facilitator will come in and do a interactive Ktunaxa Legend with you and you group.
Blanket Exercise
The KAIROS Blanket Exercise program is a unique, interactive and participatory history lesson developed in collaboration with the Indigenous Elders, Knowledge keepers and educators.
Tipi Raising
A facilitator or knowledge keeper will do a team building exercise with you and your group to raise a Tipi. This will also include basic knowledge of the correct protocols that come with tipi raising.
Traditional Games
You and your group will be taught a traditional game that was played by the Ktunaxa people, and will be taught about the game and the history behind it.
Cross Cultural Awareness Session
This is customized to the group and what each group is looking to achieve, normally a session could include keynote speakers and or activities listed above. We work individually with each company to ensure they get everything that want for their company and or employees.
